About Us

KIONG SING CO. was established in the 1960s by Datuk Ling Hua Kai and incorporated on the 17th of March 1973 as KIONG SING (SABAH) SDN BHD.

The company started out in the hardware business since its establishment. In the 1970s, part of its activity consisted of trading heavy building materials and this gradually developed into the production of mild steel round bars in the early 80s in order to fulfil the market's demands. During this period of time, the company's main activity was centered on the supplying of materials based on project to project basis besides importing and distributing steel roofing and high tensile deformed bar.

In the 1990's, the company played a major role in the setting up of a metal roofing factory, a steel mill and a hard drawn wire factory. This clearly indicated that in the developing state of Sabah, locally produced materials would not only benefit the consumer but also the environment as less transportation means less carbon footprint. Indeed, progress does not cease here as it is the objective of Kiong Sing (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd. to develop further in the near future especially in respond to SMI's call to produce more locally-made products.

Now in 2022, Kiong Sing (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd. has extended its trading to supplying an even more vast category of building materials. Together with the services provided, the company is better equipped to provide fast and efficient delivery of materials to our customers.
